Idea of name came from the word "Carrel" - which means a small desk available in library often used by students for studying.

e-carrel is an online community of students to study and share knowlege, resources and study ideas of different subjects.

Access to the community, i.e. members area, is only given with the reference. Members area is a private and closed group of members. Only Exhisiting members can give the refral, which can be used to request a new account or access.
